Born and bred on Video Games, Alan has been playing since he was able to hold a controller. In his High School years, he helped build a small Halo 2 clan of fewer than 25 members into a gaming community of over 1500 active players. After building and leading multiple clans over multiple games he ultimately became a section leader in the community. In this community, Alan was also involved in playing competitive Halo 2, and Call of Duty 4 on Gamebattles and he played Guitar Hero semi competitively online. In his college years, Alan grew into a love of competitive PC gaming and learned League of Legends and StarCraft 2. This love turned into a desire to understand these games to their deepest levels which pushed him to become an analytical caster for these games. When Hearthstone came out, his love of card games became fulfilled, and he began to play that competitively, and cast it as well. Now, Alan continues to play Hearthstone, Magic the Gathering, Overwatch and still studies up on StarCraft 2, among other games. In his time with NCSA, he has had the opportunity to become the esports Specialist for their sister company, BeRecruited. He has traveled to a couple of events as BeRecruited’s Representative and has had the opportunity to speak on panels about esports recruiting. He has had the privilege of meeting and working with many amazing varsity esports coaches, which has inspired Alan to want to become a coach himself.
